VIII NARVA OPERA FESTIVAL
August 21-25, 2024
VIII Narva Opera Days Receives €75,000 in Support from EAS from their "International Sports and Cultural Events" Funding Round
The Narva Opera Days have become a traditional flagship event in Ida-Viru County, and in 2024, the festival will celebrate its eighth season. This event serves as a convergence of East and West, blending history with the contemporary, and engaging various societal strata in a unique ambiance within the walls of the Kreenholm Manufactory. Since its inception in 2015, the festival has evolved into a multi-day annual tradition, drawing visitors and tourists to the city of Narva. The program showcases diverse new productions and performances by music theaters suitable for enjoyment by families.
The primary objective of the project is to enrich cultural life in Ida-Viru County and Estonia at large, while also showcasing the unique setting of the Kreenholm Manufactory and the broader region to both domestic and international tourists. Furthermore, the aim is to sustain and enhance this established flagship event, while also boosting participation from tourism service providers catering to festival attendees.
ContempArt NGO, serving as the organizer of the Narva Opera Days, actively participated in the EAS “Support for International Sports and Cultural Events” funding round and secured €75,000 in funding, constituting 30% of the project’s own resources. The VIII Narva Opera Days are scheduled to unfold from August 21st to August 25th, 2024. While the majority of performances and festival activities will occur within the confines of the Kreenholm Manufactory, additional events are planned at the Narva Town Hall and the Narva Art Residency.
The Narva Opera Days strive to adhere to sustainable event principles, fulfilling economic and social sustainability criteria, while also upholding principles of equal treatment and environmental responsibility.
